There comes a showdown for the long stretched political crisis of Karnataka government. Finally, there was no-confidence motion held today in which Kumaraswamy government has lost its support with six MLA’s less in number.
In the floor test happened today, HD Kumaraswamy has got the support of 99 MLA’s and whereas, 105 MLA’s has voted against him. Hence, the Kumaraswamy government lost by six votes.
Section 144 has been imposed in the Bengaluru due to the fall of Kumaraswamy government in the thought of any disturbances may prevail. Post JD-S failing to survive the floor test, BJP responded saying it’s an end of unholy alliance. Seems like Karnataka may go to midterm elections as BJP has no interest to form the government with the unhappy alliance.
The sudden resignation of 15 rebel MLA’s resulted in the Kumaraswamy government to fall under the minority or crisis. Though desperate efforts were made to reach the rebel MLA’s and pacify them, none has resulted in a benefit to the Kumaraswamy government.
