Recently, BJP MLA Raja Singh has voiced out in the assembly noting the Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao that many of the government implemented schemes like Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyanalaxmi were being ruled by the brokers. Brokers are promising the applicants that  they will get the welfare schemes soon, if they pay them a specific amount so that they can bribe the revenue staff to grant the schemes swiftly.

Raja Singh went on to say, brokers are even warning the applicants that their application will stay pending forever, if they don’t pay the demanded amount of 20,000 to 30,000 Rs to get their Shadi Mubarak or Kalyanalaxami scheme of 1 Lakh for each beneficiary.

Though initially CM KCR had denied the occurrence of such irregularities in his implemented schemes. However, he ordered a probe on it. Upon the CM instructions, the vigilance and enforcement department that probed for the irregularities, submitted the final report to the chief secretary Somesh Kumar naming 43 revenue staff members as the culprits. Further to this, we got to know that the government has decided to whip on all the 43 revenue staff including tahsildars, revenue inspectors and VROs for corruption and irregularities in selecting the beneficiaries for various welfare schemes.

From the sources, it was also known that the submitted probe report declared many ineligible people had got the benefits of welfare schemes by bribing the revenue staff.
