The body of India’s Coffee King VG Siddhartha, who has been missing since Monday, was recovered in the back waters of river Netravati, Mangaluru at 4.30 am Wednesday.

VG Siddhartha’ body was recovered after the 36 hours of frantic search for the businessman. The body was found on the banks of Netravati River. The local fishermen identified the body of the owner and founder of the largest coffee chain in India, Cafe Coffee Day (CCD), and informed the police authorities around 6 am in the morning.

On Monday evening, VG Siddhartha reportedly dropped off his car near to Netravati river and asked his driver to leave home.

According to VG Siddhartha’ driver, the coffee King got off from his car near a bridge in Kotekar on Netravati River near Mangalore around 6.30 pm on Monday and he did not come back. As VG Siddhartha did not come back even after an hour, his driver tried to look for him but to no avail.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil said, “We found the body of VG Siddhartha early morning today. We have already informed the family members and are shifting the body to Wenlock Hospital.”

VG Siddhartha, who is also the Chairman and Managing director of the Coffee Day Enterprise Limited (CDEL) -is the son-in-law of former Union Minister of Foreign Affairs and now Bharitya Janatha Party leader SM Krishna.
