The senior comedian Ali’s mother Zebeda passed away on Thursday morning. She breathed her last in Rajahmundry. The sources say that Ali’s mother was suffering from old-age health issues for quite some time. She used to stay with her son Ali at his residence in Hyderabad, has gone to his daughter’s place recently. Comedian Ali, who’s currently in Ranchi to shoot for a Hindi film, started off to Hyderabad immediately after hearing the news of his mother’s demise. The final rites are likely to take place at Manikonda on Thursday.
Comedian Ali shares a great bonding with his mother. In the past, he has been to Hajj to pray for the wellbeing of his mother. On several occasions, Ali credited his mother’s sacrifices and said that his mother was behind his success. Whenever he gets the time from his busy shot schedule, he used to spend it with his mother. Comedian Ali has also been carrying out various charity activities in the memory of his father.
Ali’s father Mohammad Basha was a tailor and his mother was a homemaker. Ali has one younger brother named Khayyam, who is also an actor. Ali got married on 23 January 1994 at Mandapet and has two daughters and a son (Mohd, Fathima Rameezun, Mohd Abdul Subhan and Zuveria Meethi).
Earlier in an interview, Ali had said, “It is because of my father Mohammad Basha that I got actively involved in charity and service to society. He always told me that it is one’s responsibility to give something back to the society and, therefore, I started an NGO in his name and have been contributing to society for the last five years.” Ali’s NGO is called Mohammad Basha Charitable Trust, which works for the underprivileged and has been active for over 10 years now.
Ali is known for his performance in films such as ‘Yamaleela’, ‘Hello Brother’, and ‘Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi’.
