Our Country India has now become only the third country in the world after the United States and Brazil with more than a million cases of the coronavirus disease. India crossed the million mark in 137 days and half of these were in a hard nationwide lockdown announced in the early days of the pandemic.

India has gone past the 25,000 mark as of yesterday 687 people have died. The total death count now stands at 25,602. The active Covid-19 cases count is also going up. 3,42,473 are the current active cases whereas  6,35,757 got cured of the coronavirus.

Rahul Gandhi said, “10,00,000 figures exceeded. If  COVID-19 spreads at the same speed, more than 20,00,000 will be infected in the country by 10th August.”

India is now the third worst affected country in the world in terms of coronavirus cases.

Andhra Pradesh has over 38,000 while Telangana has 41,018 cases. Maharashtra continues to report the highest number of cases, followed by Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. Assam has recorded 19,754 COVID-19 cases, including 48 deaths.  Goa government has announced Janata curfew between 8 pm and 6 am till 10th August. Chennai is emerging from a second strict lockdown, imposed after a spike in cases in Tamil Nadu.
