Spanish Princess, a member of the House of Bourbon-Parma Maria Teresa passed away in Paris after contracting the  coronavirus. The news of  Spanish Princess’ demise has been officially announced by her brother on Sunday and Maria was the first royal to fall victim to the coronavirus.

The death of Princess Maria Teresa comes weeks after King Felipe VI of Spain tested -ive for the covid-19. Maria Teresa was a cousin of Spain’ King Felipe VI. Her brother Prince Sixto Enrique de Borbon, the Duke of Aranjuez, announced on social media site- Facebook that she died after contracting COVID-19, coronavirus.

 Princess Maria Teresa was born on 28th July, 1933 in Paris, she was the daughter of Prince Xavier of Bourbon Parma, Duke of Parma and Piacenza, and Madeleine de Bourbon Busset. The Princess studied in France and became a professor at Paris Sorbonne.  She earned the nickname “Red Princess”.

 The funeral service for the princess Maria Teresa was held on Friday in Madrid.

Maria Teresa has become the first royal to passes away due to coronavirus.  She died on 26th March 2020 in Paris, at the age of 86.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles became the first British royal to be tested +ive for the coronavirus, earlier this week.
