Court cancels Nadigar Sangam elections 2019

According to the latest update, on Wednesday, the Register of Societies of Tamil Nadu issued a statement announcing its decision to stop the elections of South Indian Film Artists Association, known as Nadigar Sangam, which was due on 23rd June. The Register has said that it is investigating several complaints, including revoking voting rights of some members of the Nadigar Sangam.

The news on the sudden cancellation of the elections has shocked many actors in the industry. In his order, the registrar says that there is lack of clarity over the removal of members and their eligibility to vote in the election. There is also lack of clarity on how the election was going to be held for the current term.

About 61 members, who voted in last election, have filed complaints with the Register as they were made ineligible to the vote in the upcoming elections. The association has said it need some time to look into the concerns raised by few members.

While the election was supposed to be held on 23rd June, Vishal received a shock from the Registrar of Societies. K Bhagyaraj’s Sankardas team has also expressed their disappointment over the cancellation of Nadigar Sangam election. The sources say that Vishal and Co, are planning to go the Court to demand the election be held.
