Director Sriram Adittya‘s directorial venture Devadas, is an action comedy entertainer movie in which Akkineni Nagarjuna, Natural Star Nani, Rashmika Mandanna and Aakanksha Singh are playing the lead roles whereas Murali Sharma, Naveen Chandra, Sarathkumar and Vennela Kishore are playing supporting roles. Devadas has hit the theaters today i.e 27th September 2018 in a very grand manner. As Nani and Nagarjuna’s previous offerings Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Officer respectively were bombed at the box office, this time they are pinning lot of hopes. Let’s see the storyline of Devadas
Story: Das (Nani) is a fun loving guy, who is a doctor and works at a private hospital. Deva (Nagarjuna) and his god father Dada (Sharath Kumar) are underworld don. During a fight, Deva gets injured and reaches Das’s hospital. As Das starts Deva’s treatment, soon they become good friends. But the mafia background of Deva causes rift in their friendship. What happens next? How will Das change Deva a good man? Form rest of the story.
Plus Points:
- Nani
- Nagarjuna
- Entertainment
- Visuals
Minus Points:
- Regular Story
- Unnecessary forced scenes
- Female actresses
Performance: Nagarjuna and Nani both have given their best performance, which are the main asset of Devadas. Their chemistry (bromance) between them are highlighted. Nagarjuna looks young and energetic. His body language and way of dialogue delivery are top notch. Both Nani and Nagarjuna entertain with perfect comedy timing. Once again Nani steals the show with his innocent look and wonderful performance. Rashmika Mandanna and Akanksha Singh get limited screen space but they justify with their roles. Murali Sharma, comedian Satya and others performed accordingly.
Technical: There is nothing special in the storyline of Devadas but it has executed well. Dialogues are written well. The production values of Vyjayanthi Movies are top notch and the producers did not compromise with the quality of the movie. The director has mixed the elements properly in the film to create interest. The songs go with the flow of the film. The lyrics are good. The editing is just ok. The Cinematography in eye candy and Art direction is good.
Analysis: Overall Devadas is an average action and comedy entertainer. The first half is simple and ordinary but the second half has number of emotional scenes. The plus points are the performance of Nani and Nagarjuna, and their bromance. On the flip-side, the predictable storyline and Unnecessary forced scenes disappoint the audiences. The Movie ends on a comedy note.
