Tamil actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, the daughter of Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth, announced their divorce yesterday on 17th January. The couple have decided to part ways after the 18 years of marriage. The couple has two boys, Yatra and Linga, aged 15 and 11 respectively.
Yesterday night, both Aishwaryaa and Dhanush took to their social media and released the statements that read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting.”
They tied the knot in 2004, after six months of courtship. They belong to well established families in Kollywiid. While While Aishwaryaa is the elder daughter of Rajinikanth, Dhanush is the son of producer Kasthuri Raja.
On the work front, Dhanush was last seen in the Bollywood film Atrangi Re, which also starred Saif Ali Khan’ daughter Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. Dhanush is a four time National Award winner.
Aishwaryaa is known for helming few Tamil romantic thriller “3” and black comedy “Vai Raja Vai”.
Last year in the month of October, Akkineni couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya announced the divorce and this time Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
