ED raids in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana state, are once again creating a stir. ED officials are conducting searches in many pharma companies across the country, including Hyderabad. Authorities have recently busted a bunch of companies manufacturing fake and substandard drugs. A total of 18 pharma companies’ licenses have been cancelled. As a part of this, the officials said that inspections were carried out on Saturday. A total of 15 places including pharma companies in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Patan Cheru, Madapur and the houses of directors of those companies are being searched since morning. Officials also raided the houses of Juven Pharma company directors. 

The authorities canceled the license of Ceylan Pharma Company, which was manufacturing an inferior drug in the name of curing cancer. This company is operating in Hyderabad. Drug control authorities have raided more than 100 companies in all 20 states after WHO alerted them about fake medicines. The licenses of 18 companies were cancelled.

It is known that many Uzbek children who used medicine made in Noida lost their lives! WHO has expressed concern over this incident. It advised the Government of India to be vigilant against the manufacture of fake and substandard medicines. Drug control officials first raided Maiden Pharma in Noida. After examining the medicines there, dangerous bacteria such as ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol were found in them and the license of Maiden Pharma was canceled immediately.
