Samantha Akkineni is all set to don the title role of Shakuntala in Gunasekhar’ upcoming much awaited mythological drama Shakuntalam, which is based on Kalidasa’ eponymous work. The announcement regarding this project Shakuntalam was made on 1st January by the director who unveiled the motion poster of the film and termed the narrative as ‘mythology for millennials’. Shakuntalam will be a pan-Indian film of Samantha Akkineni which has the music by Mani Sharma. Samantha Akkineni is playing the lead role of Shakuntala while Dev Mohan is playing the role of King Dushyant. Now the reports are coming that Stylish Star Allu Arjun’ son Allu Ayaan or Young Tiger Jr NTR’ elder son Abhay Ram will play the role of Young Bharat in Samantha and Dev Mohan starrer Shakuntalam.
Bharat is the son of Shakuntala and Dushyant. The sources say that Gunasekhar is planning to cast Jr NTR’s son Abhay Ram or Bharghav Ram in the role. If Gunasekhar will not get a green signal from NTR, then Allu Arjun’ son Allu Ayaan will play Bharat in Shakuntalam.
In past Allu Arjun has played a powerful role of Gona Gannareddy in Gunasekhar’ directorial and production venture Rudramadevi.
Meanwhile Samantha Akkineni was last seen in her first web series — season two of The Family Man.
