Former Bhadrachalam MLA, senior CPI leader and Girijana Sangam leader Sunnam Rajaiah reportedly died of  Coronavirus in the wee hours on Tuesday. He was 68.

 The sources say that EX-MLA Sunnam Rajaiah was admitted to hospital after suffering from severe fever and tested positive for novel Coronavirus and undergoing treatment at the hospital in Vijayawada. But, his condition worsened and he took his last breath while undergoing treatment.

 According to the latest report, Sunnam Rajaiah had first developed fever some 10 days ago and he was treated at a local hospital near his native village in Sunnamvari Gudem. Later he had taken a Coronavirus test then and the result was negative. However, on Monday, when his family members got him tested again at Bhadrachalam and he tested positive for Covid-19. He was rushed to Vijayawada for better treatment.

Sunnam Rajaiah was elected three times as an MLA from Bhadrachalam constituency but lost the previously held elections by contesting from Rampachodavaram constituency. He also participated in many movements and after bifurcation, he contested2019 polls from Rampachodavaram and lost to opponent Kunja Satyavati by just 6956 Votes.
