Ex-Union Minister Ajit Singh was diagnosed with novel coronavirus, his son Jayat Chaudhary informed by sharing a post on Twitter as he said, “He battled his condition till the very end and breathed his last today morning.” Now according to the latest update, Ajit Singh passed away today morning.

India’ Prime Minister Prime Minister Narendra Modi  and other politicians  paid tribute to the politician Ajit Singh, who is  known to be a prominent voice of farmers.

PM Modi said, “Ajit Singh  was always dedicated to the cause of farmers. He ably fulfilled many responsibilities at the centre.”

Ajit Singh was a seven time MP and Union Minister in the governments of VP Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, PV Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh. Ajit Singh enjoyed an immense following in politically vital UP, especially its western parts dominated by Jats.

The son of former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, Ajit Singh quit the computer industry to return to country India and join politics when his father fell ill.  He became a Rajya Sabha member in  the year 1986. When his father Chaudhary Charan Singh died the next year, he was asked to take over as chief of the Lok Dal. Later he formed his own party.
