Character Artist Karate Kalyani is well known face for the audiences of Telugu film Industry. Recently during the media interaction, she opened up about casting couch. Karate Kalyani also revealed that a film maker offered her Rs 50,000 per month for having s*x.
In her recent interview, Karate Kalyani said, “Casting Couch is not new in film industry. It exists in every field. The women are facing casting couch/s*xual harassment in every field. In Software field, Kissing and hugging is not a big deal. I never encourage such things in my filmy life. If we are mentally strong, no body could trouble us. It depends on us how we present ourselves.” Karate Kalyani further added, “A Film Personality offered me Rs 50,000 per month to share the bed. But when I said no to him, he asked me to vacate the house. Later I left the house and shifted to another rented house.”
While countering the actresses who came onto roads about casting couch, Karate Kalyani said they should not have encouraged such things in the incipient stage. She condemned their blaming the film industry and said everything depends upon their character and the way they present themselves.
Karate Kalyani has done some vamp characters in movies. She entered in to the Limca Book of Records for performing harikatha continuously for 114 hours 45 minutes and 55 seconds. She has also participated in a debate on the casting couch phenomenon with controversial Telugu actress Sri Reddy. She did not support her because of her false allegations and assaulted her on live television.
