Tamil actress Meera Mithun is in the legal trouble. An FIR has been filed against  the actress Meera Mithun for using a casteist slur. The case against her has been registered under the SC/ST Act.

Based on  the complaint by Vanni Arasu, the leader of Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi- VSK, a Dalit party, a case has been registered against controversial Meera Mithun, after a video of  the actress making casteist remarks surfaced on the social media sites-  Twitter. Meera Mithum was heard asking for all members of the Scheduled Caste community in the Tamil Film industry to be thrown out.

Kollywood actress said, “I am not speaking ill about the  members of SC community. But members of the community face  the problems mostly because they are involved in the illegal activities and crimes. No one will unnecessarily speak  bad  about someone without any reason.”

On 7th August, Meera Mithun had uploaded a video where she had spoken in derogatory manner against  the Schedule Caste- SC people. Kollywood actress and YouTube star Meera complained about a director stealing her photograph and using it for a movie’s first look, and uttered a derogatory term used as an insult against the Schedule Caste.

The complaint was lodged with Madurai Municipal Police Commissioner Prem Anand Sinha IPS.
