Recently there was a strong buzz in the film industry that Kannada star Yash who is best known for playing the lead role in KGF series, had been approached to play the role of Dev in upcoming big budget Pan India film Brahmastra. Producer Karan Johar finally breaks his silence on the rumors surrounding the actor playing Dev in the film.
Brahmastra Part 1 opened as the biggest Bollywood opener at the box-office of 2022. The film starred Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in the important roles. Brahmastra ended on a suspense note where the makers didn’t reveal the identity of Dev and Amrita and fans have still been going gaga over it. While some are convinced it’s Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, some are speculating that it’s Greek God of Bollywood- Hrithik Roshan.
First time Karan Johar responded to the presence of Yash in Brahmastra 2 and said, “This is all rubbish. We haven’t approached anyone.”
It was also heard that Ranbir Kapoor himself who will play Dev, thus repeating what he did in Shamshera this year, playing the father and son duo in a double role. Brahmastra 2 is expected to hit the theaters on Christmas 2025 with the third part of the trilogy coming out in 2026 as the makers are planning to shoot both parts of the film together.
