Post revoking the special provisions or so-called Article 370 and 35(A) of Jammu, Kashmir, the new UT’s is all set to attend the 29th meeting of the Northern Zonal Council at Chandigarh on September 20. Earlier J&K and Ladakh are used to represent as the one state in the meeting and after the abrogation and bifurcation, the said places will be introducing as the two UTs,

From the reports, it was known that the Zonal meeting will be chaired by the Union home minister Amit Shah and the Northern Zonal Council comprises of the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi that will attend the event.

Per the sources, the Haryana Chief Minister would be the vice-chairman and host for the meeting. The CM’s from the member states in the zone along with two ministers each, administrators of UTs, chief secretaries and senior officers from the state governments and the Central government will attend the meeting.

The meeting of the Northern Zonal Council was last held at Chandigarh on 12 May 2017. However, it has wait and have a look, as how the people of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will respond to this meeting and how would be their perception of this meeting. On the other hand, the tensions are still on peaks between Pakistan and India upon the abrogation of special privileges to J&K.
