After the wide range of speculations and many dramatic twists, The then Finance Minister P Chidambaram has been arrested and taken into the CBI custody in Lodhi colony. Recently, he applied for anticipatory bail for himself at Delhi High Court which was got turned down by the court.
From the reports, it was known that Chidambaram was made to sit between the two policemen per the protocol followed by the law enforcement agencies in preventing the accused from hurting or fleeing. Chidambaram will be produced before the court today at noon, reportedly. From the close parties, it was known that Chidambaram’s son Karti will also be questioned by the CBI by bringing him face-to-face with his father for cross-examination. CBI filed FIR alleging irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance that was given to the INX Media for receiving whopping funds of Rs 305 Crores during 2007-08, reportedly.
Chidambaram was the four-time Finance Minister in the UPA government and also served as the Union Home Minister for one time under the UPA. Whereas, now CBI might take Chidambaram to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital for medical examination.
