Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the film industry has incurred huge losses. On Thursday, Tollywood bigwigs sought permission from the State government to start the film shoots and other production work. A delegation from the movie industry held a meeting with Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav at Megastar Chiranjeevi’s residence and discussed the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions. According to the latest update, Rajamouli has agreed to do a test shoot of some scenes on ‘RRR’ sets.
Sye Raa star Chiranjeevi said, “The lockdown has severely affected the livelihood of daily wage workers and technicians. We are requesting the Telangana government to allow us to start the shoot and reopen cinema halls. We assure that social distancing guidelines and other necessary precautions will be observed at shoot spot.” Baahubali and RRR filmmaker SS Rajamouli added, “We will shoot the movie with limited cast and crew.
Talasani Srinivasa Yadav said, “The government will consider all the opinions and chart out guidelines on how shooting and other production-related works can be resumed by adhering to social distancing and other norms.” He questioned, “Can the shoot of a movie be done with fewer people on the sets? Magadheera helmer SS Rajamouli said, “I can prove that many scenes of the movie can be shot following all the guidelines of social distancing.” According to the latest update, SS Rajamouli is ready to do a test shoot of some scenes on RRR sets. After this the final call to allow the shootings in the first week of June, will take place.
