Geetha Govindam has created a Non-Baahubali record in Tamil Nadu. According to the traders report, Vijay Deverakonda starrer Geetha Govindam has earned more than Rs 5 Cr in Tamil Nadu State. The Industry tracker Kaushik LM has confirmed this news via his tweet. He wrote on the wall of his twitter, “#GeethaGovindam is a non-Baahubali record holder in TN, grossing more than 5 CR in the state. Unexpected, undisputed blockbuster! @TheDeverakonda @iamRashmika.” The interesting thing is that Geetha Govindam was not dubbed in Tamil language, its Telugu version was released in Tamil Nadu.

It is heard that Geetha Govindam was supposed to star Allu Sirish in the role played by Vijay Deverakonda. The sources say that Allu Aravind and Bunny Vas were considering the name of Allu Sirish for Geetha Govindam, when Parasuram came up with the story. But Parasuram said that he wanted to make the movie with sensational hero Vijay Deverakonda. Now the makers of Geetha Govindam also accepting that the stardom on Vijay Deverakonda helped in the success of Geetha Govidam.
Geetha Govindam has collected $2,195,372 at USA box office.
