Godfather Movie Review: Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, Nayanthara and others starrer Godfather, the remake of Malayalm film Lucifer has finally arrived at the theaters on 5th October. Let’s see the story of Godfather.

Story:  The death of the chief minister has his party search of his successor.  Daughter Satya Priya (Nayanthara) is disinterested, while son-in-law Jayadev (Satya Dev) who runs Narcotic business wants to become CM of the state after his father in law’s death. But, there’s one man standing in his way,  Brahma (Chiranjeevi). The rest of the story is about the cat and mouse game of who becomes the CM of the state finally.

Plus Points:

·         Chiranjeevi Performance

·         Casting

·         Chiru mass Intro scene

·         Chiranjeevi and Satya dev Jail episode

·         Nayanthara and Chiranjeevi emotional scene

 Minus Points:

·         Second half little bit slow

Performance: Chiranjeevi looks energetic in this film. He is playing the role of a mature politician. He  does not have many dialogues but he emotes superbly through his eyes.  Chiranjeevi leads from the front and carries the film on his shoulders. The way he portrays his loyal role and showcases superb emotions in the climax speaks volumes of Chiranjeevi acting prowess. The basic political theme of the film is very impressive. Nayanthata in the role of CM’s daughter is quite impressive.  The lady superstar is an experienced actress and her role brings a lot of depth to the film. Satya Dev is superb in the role of a bad guy. The way his transformation from good to bad in front of his wife has been showcased quite well.  Salman Khan as Masoom bhai plays a cameo but he packs a punch. Brahmaji, Sunil, Samutrakani  and do well in their roles.

Technical:  Coming on the work of Mohan Raja, he showcased Chiranjeevi in a superb manner and wins the hearts of his fans but for others, the narration looks jaded in many areas. Godfather had good scope for more drama but the director missed out on it and added unnecessary scenes. Thaman’s background score is terrific. Nirav Shah’s cinematography is brilliant as the frames look rich and he showcases the political atmosphere in a riveting manner.

Analysis:  Overall  Godfather is an impressive political thriller. The emotions in the second could have been more stronger. The climax fight, song and slow motion shots of Salman and Chiranjeevi are highlighted and end the movie Godfather on a high. The jail episode between Chiru and Satyadev is executed superbly.
