Ever since the announcement of the renaming of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) as Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), Telangana have been in a great excitement about the chief minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao setting foot into national politics. A letter was sent to the Election Commission by the party’s general secretary immediately after the general body meeting.
In the letter, it was informed to the election body about the party resolution and requesting to do the needful. But there has been no progress after the announcement and nobody knows when the TRS will transform into the BRS and KCR will enter the national politics. On Monday, KCR issued a public notice, urging to change the name of the party into Bharat Rashtra Samiti.
The notice issued in the name of TRS said a resolution was adopted by the party general body meeting to change the name of the party, headquartered at Telangana Bhavan, at Banjara Hills, Road no.10 , in Hyderabad, as Bharat Rashtra Samiti. But as per the police notice, it is proved that it will take at least a month’s time for the whole process.
After a month, the EC will take its own time in analyzing the objections, if any, to the name change of TRS into BRS and then take a call. In the meantime, EC will engage with assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. So, the EC cannot take an immediate decision on the name change of TRS. Hence, it will take approximately two months of time period for KCR to witness TRS as BRS.
