Shriya Saran, who was last seen playing a cameo in Nandamuri Balakrishna and Vijay Balan starrer NTR Kathanayakudu, is being considered to play the female lead in upcoming Telugu film, the remake of Tamil blockbuster movie Asuran remake in which Venaktesh Daggubati is going to play the lead role. If everything will go accordingly, Shriya Saran will essay the role of Manu Warrier in Telugu remake of Asuran, which is set to star Venkatesh in Dhanush’ role. The upcoming remake of Venkatesh and Shriya Saran will be bankrolled by Suresh Babu and Kalaippuli S Thanu.
The Telugu remake of Asuran is expected to go on floors early next year. The producer Suresh Babu has approached Ohmkar to direct this remake for Venkatesh and Shriya Saran. Currently Ohmkar is enjoying the success of his recent offering Raju Gari Gadhi 3 starring Avika Gor and Ashwin Babu. Ohmkar shares a good rapport with the Daggubati family and couldn’t refuse when Suresh offered this film. However, he is yet to sign on the dotted line.
Earlier Shriya Saran and Venkatesh have worked together for few movies such as Subash Chandra Bose (2005), Tulasi (2007) and Gopala Gopala (2015), while Ohmkar was supposed to direct Venkatesh in his horror and comedy drama Raju Gari Gadhi 2.
The sources close to the makers, say that Shriya Saran has signed on to play Venkatesh’ wife in the Asuran remake. The role was essayed by Manju Warrier in the original. Let’s wait for the inclusion of Shriya Saran in this project of Venkatesh.
Asuran, based on popular Tamil novel Vekkai, is directed by Vetrimaaran, the film is the blood-soaked revenge story of a father, a farmer who avenges the ruthless murder of his son. In this film Dhanush played dual roles. The movie is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, and it has the music by GV Prakash Kumar.
