AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy  announced that the construction of houses will be started on the occasion of YSR Jayanti on July 8 on the plots distributed to the poor in R5 Zone  in Amaravati. In Guntur district, Venkatapalem, CM has distributed house tracks to 50 thousand people.

Jagan said that distribution of houses in Amaravati is unique not only in the history of the state but also in the history of the country. The government has promised to provide housing to the poor.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that we are witnessing a historic moment in Amaravati, the festival of giving house to 50,000 people at a time.  The house sites are spread over a land of 1,402 acres which is available with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority.

CM Jagan said that he is indebted to God for giving him the opportunity to register and gift house plots in the names of 50,793 women.

YSRCP government is giving houses measuring 300 square feet to the beneficiaries for just one rupee. The construction of houses was completely sidelined during TDP regime. The beneficiaries of 300 square feet of houses had to pay a loan of Rs2.65 lakhs. It is a loan of Rs 7.20 lakhs with interest for  twenty years.
