Anjala Zaveri has shared the screen space with number of top stars of South Indian film Industry like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Venkatesh Daggubati. Not many of us are aware that Anjala Zaveri wasn’t the first choice for Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Preminchukundam Raa. Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai was the first choice of Venkatesh’ Preminchukundam Raa.
Venkatesh and Anjala Zaveri scored a hit movie with Preminchukundam Raa in 1997, which was helmed by Jayanth C Paranjee. The director Jayanth’ narration is one of the highlights of the film. Venkatesh starrer Preminchukundam Raa was the 1st Telugu movie to run 100 days in more than 50 centers, and the movie ran for 50 days in 57 centres. After romancing with Venkatesh, Anjala got the opportunity to work with Mega Star Chiranjeevi, King Nagarjuna and Nandamuri Balakrishna.
The sources say that the director Jayanth C Paranjee wanted to Aishwarya Rai to play the female lead role but later she was rejected by the makers as she was not so popular at that time and she already had two failures in her kitty. So the role fell in the lap of Anjala Zaveri who stole the hearts of the movie lovers with her performance as Kaveri, a factionist daughter.
