In this lockdown, the medical staff,  police, and sanitation workers are the frontline warriors. The police are working hard by standing at check-posts, not bothering about the hot sun and the zones like red and containment. Now according to the latest update, a 37 years old constable of Telangana police, died on Wednesday night, 6 days after he tested +ive for COVID-19. This is the first death due to the Coronavirus in the Telangana police department.

 According to an official, the deceased, Dayakar Reddy, was unwell from the last few days. Despite having a fever, he was on duty. Last week, after Dayakar’s temperature, soared, he was admitted to a private hospital, where he tested +ive  for COVID-19.  He died while undergoing treatment late in the night on 20th May. Dayakar Reddy was staying in Hyderabad’s Vanasthalipuram area.

As of 20th May, Telangana State had reported 1661 Coronavirus cases, with 40 people succumbing to Covid-19. According to the latest update, 1013 people have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals in the Telangana state, whereas there are 608 active Covid-19 cases as of now. On Thursday, two out of the 38 persons who tested were migrants.  Coronavirus cases inched closer to the 2000 mark in Telangana.
