The International Cricket Council (ICC) has declared the set schedule for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, and said that the first match will be held on October 23, between India and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Against New Zealand, Australia will commence the defence of their T20 World Cup title in Sydney, in a re-run of previous year’s final.

The tournament will be hosted by Australia for the first time, which is scheduled to begin on October 16 and ends on November 13.
Group wise schedule :
Group 1 : Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, A1, B2 ( Group-A Winners and Group-B runners up).
Group 2 : India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1, A2 (Group-B winners and Group-A runners up).
16 nations are likely to take part in the tournament, which will be held at Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Sri Lanka and Namibia will face off in the 1st round tournament opener on October 16 in Geelong in Group-A, and they will be joined by two qualifiers. While, Scotland and West Indies are from Group-B and two qualifiers further.
The final tournament will be held on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground day and night.
