An eminent public health expert, Dr Arora, who is also the chairman of the cental government’s Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) announced that India begin vaccinating 12-14-year-olds by March.

Last year, India commenced it’s vaccination drive on January 16 and completed 157 crore doses till now. Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed on December 25 that the country will start vaccinating teenagers for 15-18 age groups starting from January 3. Yesterday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted that over 3.5 crore teenagers with 15-18 age group have received the first dose.
Today, 287 new Omicron cases have been recorded in Bengaluru, and with this, the total number of cases have raised to 766. The test positivity rate is 19.29%, and 13 people have died yesterday. Whole India records 2135 Omicron cases in last 24 hours.
Statewise, Maharashtra recorded 1,36,786 cases. Among them, 34,235 were recovered. While in Rajasthan, 7,92,147 cases have been recorded, and among them, 5,10,108 were recovered. And in the capital state Delhi, 5493 cases have been recorded freshly, and recovered cases are only 57.
