India Coronavirus death toll overtakes China

India’ coronavirus death toll has surpassed that of China after it reported a total of 4,706 fatalities, while it overtook Turkey to become the 9th worst hit nation by the pandemic with 1,65,799 Coronavirus cases. The country has registered 175 deaths and a record 7,466 fresh COVID-19 infection cases in the last 24 hrs till Friday at 8 am. The total number of Coronavirus cases stands at 1,73,763 whereas 82,370 have recovered.

Also, the highest deaths have been reported in 24 hours too with 265. With this, India’s Corona death toll is taken to 4971. While China’s Corona deaths were claimed to be 4638, India’s Corona deaths have surpassed China’s Coronavirus deaths.

According to JHU, China has confirmed 84,106 Coronavirus cases and 4,638 deaths from COVID-19 so far.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Gujarat are the states that have the highest number of Covid-19 cases with 62,228, 20,246, 17,386, and 15,934 respectively. Himachal Pradesh has registered 5 Coronavirus fatalities, while Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and Assam have recorded 4 deaths each so far. Meghalaya has reported 1 COVID-19 fatality. The number of Coronavirus cases has gone up to 4,536 in West Bengal, 3,296 in Bihar, and 3,251 in AP. Haryana has reported 1,504 coronavirus cases while Kerala has 1,088 cases. Assam reported  856 and Jharkhand reported 469.
