Our Country India reported 17,073 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, raising its tally to 4,34,07,046, a jump of 45 % from yesterday.
On Sunday 11,739 new Covid-19 cases and 25 deaths were recorded in India. Death count has climbed to 5,25,020 with the 21 fresh fatalities. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 5.62 % while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 3.39 per cent.
Maharashtra saw a rise in tally with 6,493 fresh covid case reported. The state has the highest overall cases in India. Delhi also saw jump in cases with 1,891 cases recorded on Sunday as compared to 666 infections recorded a day before. Other star Kerala also saw the rise in cases. West Bengal reported fresh 493 fresh cases on Sunday. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research 3,03,604 samples were tested for Covid in the last 24 hours, taking the total count to more than 86.10 cr.
The COVID-19 vaccination drive started in the country on 16th January, 2021 and since then over 197.11 cr vaccine doses have been administered to eligible beneficiaries.
The health ministry informed that 2,49,646 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given out to beneficiaries in the last 24 hours in the country.
