On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has lent its helping hand to the P Chidambaram against arrest till Wednesday, who is stuck in the INX Media case. Today, the apex court would hear the arguments of the Enforcement Directorate counsel on the Chidambaram’s two petitions including to the challenge of the remand orders that was released by the trial court.
The case of the former Finance minister is under the bench that is comprised of Justices R Banumathi and AR Bopanna and the court said it will not be influenced by any other views that are expressed by the Delhi high court that has turned down the anticipatory bail plea of the Chidamabaram.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Chidambaram, told the court that its applications for transcripts of the questions and answers by his client should be brought on record. He further said, “It is their case that they have all the evidence, and our case is that they did not put this information before him,”
