Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand are working together for an upcoming film Jaanu. This film happens to be a remake of Tamil hit movie 96 that has Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. The makers of Jaanu took to their Twitter handle to unveil the trailer of Samantha and Sharwanand starrer. The trailer indicates that Jaanu is a faithful recreation of the original with no changes. The bgm and the visuals have been kept ethnic.
The Jaanu trailer starts with Sharwanand revisits his school and recollects every bit of it. During a reunion with his classmates, Sharwa gets a chance to meets his childhood sweetheart, Samantha. The chemistry between the lead pair- Samantha and Sharwanand are highlighted. Both are seen giving their career-best performance. The rest of the trailer jumps back and forth in time, between the school-era and present-day lead pair meeting again.
Meanwhile, the makers have released two singles from the film Jaanu, Pranam and Oohale. Both the songs have received a positive response from the movie lovers on the social media.
Jaanu is being helmed by Prem Kumar who helmed the original version of 96. Prem Kumar roped again the same cinematographer Mahendiran Jayaraju and the same composer Govind Vasantha from the original 96, for Jaanu. Samantha and Sharwanand starrer is bankrolled by Dil Raju and the movie will hit the theaters on 7th February.
