It seems that the government is ready to appease the employees who have been protesting for the last few days in AP. Along with payment of wages, employees are fighting for cancellation of CPS, wage revisions and payment of DA.

The government is making new strategies to bring the government employees on track in AP. It seems that the Chief Minister is thinking of offering a better pension to appease the employees who are complaining about the way the government is doing. Proposals are being prepared accordingly. A decision is likely to be taken in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Procedures have been designed to implement the pension system almost at par with OPS. It is said that 50% of the basic salary at the time of retirement is proposed to be received as pension.

Except for PRC benefits, everything else will be applicable like OPS. It is said that if DR is given, the pension will also increase according to inflation. Thus it is said that the burden of price increase can be avoided. The employees are proposing to pay the 10 percent share they are paying now.

According to CPS Fund statistics, scientific calculations reveal that maximum 20 percent of the employee’s last month’s basic salary will come as pension.

The pension is fixed and does not increase during the pensioner’s lifetime. Earlier, the government proposed to provide 33 percent pension guarantee keeping in mind the welfare of the employees. The employees were not willing for this. The trade unions have objected that the increase in inflation will increase the cost of living and cause hardship to the pensioners.
