Jagan Mohan Reddy YSRCP Leading in AP

The 1st Assembly elections of Andhra Pradesh 5 years after the bifurcation was held on 11th April. The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is pitted against the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress. Actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan is also making his political debut this time. The counting of votes have started across the state at 8 am on Thursday i.e 23rd May. In the first round, the YSRCP candidates are at the forefront. Early leads from Andhra Pradesh show, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy leading in both Lok Sabha and the assembly elections in the state.

Of the 175 assembly seats in the state, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is ahead in 136, compared to the 36 of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The majority mark in assembly stands at 88. He is also leading in 16 of the state’s 25 seats. The TDP of Chandrababu Naidu is leading in only 7.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is continuing the lead at Pulivendula Assembly Constituency. From the Telugu Desam Party Satish Reddy has contested as MLA candidate from Pulivendula.

Today’s results will decide if Chandrababu Naidu will return as king of Andhra Pradesh state or will go on to become the kingmaker.
