The close aide of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK president J Jayalalithaa, –  Sasikala was rushed to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening  by prison authorities  and now according to the latest report, she  has been shifted to the ICU- Intensive Care Unit after Sasikala was diagnosed with Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).

The sources close to Sasikala revealed that she had been suffering from the  fever for the past few days. It was suspected that she has contracted Coronavirus in the prison but she was awaiting confirmation from the doctors. But later Sasikala was tested negative for Coonavirus.

Sources revealed that the current diagnosis the doctors are working with is Severe Acute Respiratory Illness-  SARI and that the cause could be infection.

Sasikala is expected to be released from Parapanna Agrahara prison on 27th January, a day that coincides with unveiling of late CM J Jayalalitha’s memorial at the Marina Beach in Chennai by Tamil Nadu CM EK Palaniswami.

Dhinakaran expressed satisfaction at the treatment being given to his aunt Sasikala.

N Raja Senthoor Pandian had said  the prison authorities informed him that his client Sasikala had been suffering from the fever for the past 5 days and that her blood oxygen levels were monitored regularly.
