Jayamalini started her film career with a group dance in the cinema at the age of 12 and she has acted in more than 500 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. She became famous by acting in s…xy scenes in many films. She made her film debut in the year 1974 with P. Vitthalacharyar’s film Aadathani Athrushtam.
Her real name is Alamelu Manga. But producer Vitthalacharya changed her name to Jayamalini as the name Alamelu Manga was not suitable for the film industry. Even though she has not appeared in films for many years, none of the film fans will forget her easily. Jayamalini, who came into films to support her family, turned into a dancer at an early age. In those days, all the top actors had item songs in their films. They are not done by heroines. Only romantic stars like Jayamalini, Jyotilakshmi and Silk Smitha used to do it.
