67th National Film Awards for the films released in 2019, which were supposed to be declared last year but finally it was announced today in New Delhi. Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu starrer social message oriented movie Maharshi is awarded the Best popular film . Raju Sundaram also got the Best Choreography award for the film. This is the second National award for Raju Sundaram after Jr NTR starrer Janatha Garage which was released in 2016. Dhanush shared the Best Actor award with Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee. Nani’s Jersey won multiple awards.
Mohanlal‘s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Dhanush‘ Asuran, Parthiban’ Oththa Seruppu Size 7 also won multiple awards.
Vijay Sethupathi has won the Best Supporting Actor (Male) for the movie ‘Super Deluxe’ and Pallavi Joshi won the award for the Best Supporting Actor (Female) for the movie ‘The Tashkent Files’. ‘Jallikattu’, has won Best Cinematography.
Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi has Pooja Hegde in the female lead role and it is helmed by Vamsi Paidipally and is bankrolled by Sri Venkateswara Creations.
On the otherside, Natural star Nani starrer Jersey is helmed by Gowtham Tinnanuri and is backed by Sitara Entertainments. The film has U Turn fame Shraddha Srinath in the female lead role.
