Jr NTR and Kalyanram donate for Cyclone Titli Relief

Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyanram have announced to donate Rs 15 lakhs and  Rs 5 lakhs respectively towards the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of Cyclone Titli victims in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Yesterday Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam star Vijay Devarakonda also came in the support of victims of Titli cyclone and donated Rs 5 Lakhs. Vijay Devarkonda wrote on his Twitter, “The news just reached me in Leh. This time it’s our own. Let’s join in. Every contribution is massive.”

Titli hit the state on 11th October, leaving 8 people dead and affecting 872 villages. According to the report, which is filed by Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA), 18 mandals in Srikakulam have been affected and several areas still remain flooded.

Cyclone-induced heavy rains in upland areas in state and neighbouring Odisha have caused heavy floods for Vamshadara and Nagavali rivers.

Andhra Pardesh Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu wrote to India’s Prime Minister  Mr Narendra Modi seeking assistance from the Centre worth Rs 1,200 Cr as interim relief for rehabilitation of the affected areas.  The state government has tentatively estimated the damage to be worth Rs 2,800 Cr. October month is notorious for cyclones in coastal Andhra Pradesh. TDP spokesperson Dinakar Lanka informed to the media that the chief minister is personally supervising the relief work by camping in Palasa town in the affected district.
