Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on 19th October at a private hospital in Bengaluru and his sudden death gave a huge shock to everyone in the film industry. He shared cordial relations with film fraternities across the country especially Telugu cinema and Young Tiger Jr NTR.
Puneeth was very close to Tarak. Interestingly, Puneeth used to call Jr NTR a ‘half brother of Karnataka’ as the latter’s mom hails from Kundapura, Udipi, Karnataka. In one of his recent online interviews, Rajkumar had said that Jr NTR and his family are like family to him. At the RRR press conference today in Bengaluru, Jr NTR paid a tribute to the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar by singing Geleya Geleya from the movie Chakravyuha. Tarak also added that it’s the last time he will be singing this song. This will be my first and last.
Tarak also said, “Wherever Puneeth is, his blessings will always be on us.”
During the media interaction, Alia Bhatt shared her working experience with Rajamouli and said, “I was excited and nervous when I was offered the role of Sita. I was more nervous because of the language, I had to learn the lines by heart. But once I was on set, Rajamouli sir had kept everything ready and made it very smooth for me.”
