Samantha Akkineni, who was recently seen in The web drama The Family Man 2, has joined the sets of upcoming Telugu period drama Shakuntalam, which is progressing at the brisk pace in Hyderabad under the direction of Gunasekhar who is best known for his epic period drama Rudhramadevi with Anushka Shetty.
The upcoming drama Shakuntalam is based on Adi Parwa in Mahabharat and on the work of Kalidas’ Abhignana Shakuntalam. Samantha is playing the titular role whereas Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing the role of King Dushyant. Now according to the latest report, Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi is also the part of Gunasekhar’ directorial venture Shakuntalam and he is playing the crucial role in this mythological drama.
Though the makers of Shakuntalam did not officially confirm the inclusion of Kabir Bedi but the producer Neelima Guna gave a hint. Neelima thanked Kabir Bedi and she expressed her happiness on working with him and she also tagged Shakuntalam. This gave a hint that Kabir Bedi is the part of Samantha starrer. Mohan Babu is playing the role of Sage Durwava in Shakuntalam.
We have already reported that Allu Arjun and Sneha’ daughter Allu Arha is also the part of Samantha starrer and she is playing the role of Bharat.
