Kajal Aggarwal, who predominantly works in Tamil and Telugu movies has officially announced that she has signed a woman centric movie Uma. Nene Raju Nene Mantri fame actress will be playing the titular role in the Tathagatha Singha directorial. Touted to be a slice-of-life film, the movie Uma is bankrolled by Mantaraj Paliwal and Avishek Ghosh from Miraj Group.
The project is expected to go on the floors by the end of this year or early next year. a. The upcoming film Uma will be shot entirely in Calcutta. Meanwhile, the reports are coming that Kajal Aggarwal is getting Rs 2 crore plus for the big-ticket Hindi movie Uma, which is the highest pay cheque in her career in the film industry.
The sources close to Kajal Aggarwal revealed that the actress is very careful and she had refused five to six female centric movies in Telugu including the widely reported mythological movie Soorpanaka.
She was last seen in Mosagallu, starring Manchu Vishnu, which hit the big screens on 19th March this year. Although Mosagallu was primarily shot in Telugu, the dubbed versions were released in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. She will be next seen playing the female lead in Koratala Siva’ directorial venture Acharya which has Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role.
