Rishab Shetty’ film Kantara has crossed Rs 300 Cr at the worldwide box office. The audiences in the Hindi belt are also showering the love on the latest Kannada movie Kantara. Even though the collections of Akshay Kumar’s Ram Sethu and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God saw a significant dip, Rishab Shettystarrer has maintained a steady upward trend. Rishab Shetty is receiving appreciation from one and all for his brilliant portrayal of folklore in this film Kantara. Recently during an interview, Rishab Shetty revealed some exciting details. He revealed that Puneeth Rajkumar was the first choice to play the lead role in Kantara.
The late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar was supposed to do Kantara, but because of his busy schedules, he kept him away from the project. Rishab Shetty narrated the plot to Puneeth Rajkumar, and latter was also impressed with the narration. Puneeth also advised Rishab shetty not to compromise on the vision of this drama.
Vijay Kirangadur funded Kantara under the prestigious Hombale Films banner. With this, Hombale Films has fast become the most successful production house, delivering one Pan-Indian blockbuster after the next and is expected to continue to dream run even in the coming year.
