Story: Anu (Anasuya Bharadwaj) is an aspiring film director, who pens the scripts. She is looking for a big break in the film industry. Performance: Casting of the film is an asset. Undoubtedly, the heart and soul of Kathanam is
Anasuya Bharadwaj. Right from the first frame to the last, she impresses the viewers with her
performance and amazing screen presence. She carries the entire film on his shoulders and proves what
she is worthy of. Vennela Kishore’ comedy is ok and he shines in his role. Dhanraj gets a lengthy role
in Kathanam and he justifies with his role. Srinivas Avasarala has not been utilized in a proper
manner. Randhir gets a meaty role and excels in his character and shocks you with his acting
capabilities. Rest of the cast perform accordingly.
Technical: The story of Kathanam is interesting.
What makes this film Kathanam interesting is the screenplay and the effort with which they shot the movie in limited budget without compromising on the essence of the movie. The screenplay is written in such a way that tempo and curiosity is maintained throughout the movie. Background music scored by Roshan Salur is good. Cinematography by Satish Mutyala is pretty good. The dialogues are well written. Editing is ok
