MLC Kavitha, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who was supposed to attend ED- Enforcement Directorate’s hearing today, has informed the ED that she will not be able to attend. Kavitha said that she could not attend the hearing today due to ill health. She asked to fix another date for the hearing.
MLC K Kavitha was summoned by the probe agency for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy case today, but had approached the Supreme Court for an urgent hearing claiming that as a woman, she cannot be summoned to ED office.
KCR’ daughter and MLC Kavitha has sent the documents and sought by probe agency through her legal representative. And she conveyed to ED that matter is pending in Supreme Court.
Sources said the Enforcement Directorate ED is unlikely to accept this, and will insist on her appearance.
Kavitha said Enforcement Directorate was threatening other witnesses and was taking the statements that suited to their investigation. Witnesses are being threatened that their family members would be arrested if they did not make statement as they wanted.
Kavitha’s lawyer claimed that her being called to Enforcement Directorate ED office is “completely against the law”. Kavitha has not been named as an accused by either the CBI or the ED.
