Telangana government organized Republic Day at the Raj Bhavan on a direction by the High Court to observe the event at any cost with Central guidelines. The govt did not want to celebrate the occasion for the third consecutive year at the sprawling Parade ground in Hyderabad citing Covid safeguards.

KCR unfurled the national flag at his official residence Pragati Bhavan.

For 2nd consecutive year, Republic Day celebrations were held at the Raj Bhavan on the direction of the state government.

This has irked the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who has been accusing the government of not following the protocol.

This year, the Telangana HC asked the state government to organise the Republic Day celebrations in a befitting manner as per the guidelines of Centre. High Court passed the orders on a petition filed by a citizen.
