The National award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh is one of the beautiful and talented actresses of the South Indian film Industry. Currently, she has multiple big-budget projects in her hand. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, Keerthy Suresh is all set to essay the role of her mother Menaka Suresh’s role in the remake of Menaka’s 1981 film, Netri Kann. In this remake, Keerthy Suresh will share the screen space with Kollywood star Dhanush.
The pre-production work on the film has begun, and Keerthy Suresh is on the board to play the role essayed by her mother Menaka in the original. Menaka and Rajinikanth paired up for a memorable performance and Dhanush are keen to recreate the same with Keerthy Suresh.
In the past, Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh have worked together in ‘Thodari’. And now once again they are teaming for this project. Apart from reprising his father-in-law’s role, Dhanush will also produce the remake.
The original version of ‘Netrikann’ starring Rajinikanth and Menaka, was helmed by SP Muthraman and bankrolled by K Balachander under his banner Kavithalaya Productions. ‘Netrikann’ featured Rajinikanth in two roles – as a father and son. Netrikann is all about the story of a son trying to get his womanizer dad to change his behavior.
Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh starrer Netrikann’s remake will begin in the second half of 2020.
Keerthy Suresh was last seen in Manmadhudu 2, in which she played an extended cameo. The movie starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh, which was bombed at the box office. Her last full-fledged film was Vijay starrer Sarkar, which released in 2018. She will be next seen in the upcoming film Miss India, which is all about the relationship between a granddaughter and grandfather and how she fulfills her grandfather’s dream forms the crux of the story.
