Keerthy Suresh who stole million of hearts with her wonderful performance in Nag Ashwin’s directorial venture Mahanati, where she essayed the role of South Indian legendary actress Savitri, has joined hands Young Tiger Jr NTR’s Janatha Garage Co-star Mohanlal for an upcoming film Marakkar. Keerthy Suresh will be seen playing important role whereas Mohanlal is playing titular role. The sources close to the film unit reveal that Keerthy Suresh will be seen playing love interest of a Chinese hero Chiang Juvan. In our history he is mentioned as Chinali, the young commander of Marakkar.
According to the latest update, not only Keerthy Suresh but Akkineni Akhil’s Hello actress Kalyani Priyadarshan is also the part of this film. While Kalyani Priyandarshan will be seen playing a brief role, Keerthy Suresh will be seen in a longer role and a very important one. Mohanlal’s son, Pranav too will be seen in the film and he is playing the younger Marakkar in the story.
The story of Marakkar is set in the 1500s and will portray the life of Marakkar who was the first Muslim navy chief of Zamorin (Samoothiri), the Hindu king of Calicut in the 16th Century. There were 4 Kunjali Marakkars during that era, of which the 4tg is the most valiant and popular. The film is based on his life.
It is heard the Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham will also have a Chinese character and the director is planning to rope a Chinese hero for it.
Marakkar is directed by Priyadarshan and with this film Keerthy Suresh is making her comeback to Malayalam after years.
Meanwhile Keerthy Suresh is waiting for the release of AR Murugadoss’s directorial venture Sarkar, in which Vijay is playing the lead role. Apart from Sarkar, Keerthy Suresh will also be seen in Sandakozhi 2, which is currently in post production stage.
