Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday in a drugs case related to the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. NCB Deputy Director KPS Malhotra said, “Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested and the due process of informing the family has been completed.” She was questioned by NCB for three days. NCB has not clarified if Rhea Chakraborty was arrested for consumption of drugs or for being a part of a WhatsApp group involved in the buying and selling of drugs.
On day three of her interrogation by NCB, Rhea Chakraborty admitted that she was consuming not just marijuana, but also hard drugs. She had earlier admitted ‘procuring drugs’ along with Showik, who has been arrested by NCB.
Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer said after her arrest that she was being hounded by three agencies only because she was in love with a man who was a drug addict and had mental health issues.
On the otherside, Advocate Ishkaran Bhandari lashed out at Rhea Chakraborty and her lawyer Satish Maneshinde for trying to portray late actor Sushant Singh Rajput as a ‘drug addict’. One of Sushant Singh Rajput’ friend who reportedly also happens to be a prime witness in the CBI probe, claimed that Kedarnath actor was not a drug addict. He also claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput wasn’t someone who would take drugs for an escape from the reality.
