KGF 2 starring Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt, which was released on 14th May, is doing fantastic collections at the box office. The movie is helmed by Prashanth Neel. KGF producer Vijay Kiragandur has confirmed that the shooting for the third film in the franchise will begin after October this year and then new film will hit theatres in 2024. KGF 3 is going to mint gold again at the box office.
Vijay Kiragandur who is the founder of Hombale Films, the production company behind the KGF films, also confirmed that they are planning to create a “Marvel-style” universe with new characters.
He also revealed that the director Prashanth Neel is currently busy with Salaar which has Prabhas in the lead role. Around 30-35% of the shooting has been done. The next schedule is slated to start next week.
Last week, the Hindi-dubbed version of KGF Chapter 2 crossed Rs 400 cr at the box office. The film’s overall collection in all languages in India has crossed Rs 900 cr, while it crossed over Rs 1170 cr in worldwide collections.
Prashanth Neel’ magnum opus KGF 2 is all about the story of Rocky Yash- an underdog who rose to become the ruler of the gold-mining empire at Kolar Gold Fields. The first film, KGF 1 was also a box office hit in 2018.
