Lokesh Kanagaraj’ previous offering Vikram starring Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi was a blockbuster at the box office. Its success cannot be just credited to its hero, Kamal Haasan, but also to Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is not easy to direct a film with a star and deliver a 360 degree hit these days. The director has already confirmed his next with Vijay. Few months ago, he announced that the film is an out-and-out gangster drama.
If ongoing buzz in the media and the film industry are to be believed, Lokesh Kanagaraj has decided to bring KGF villain Sanjay Dutt on the board to play the role of villain in his next and he is charging a whopping Rs 10 cores for locking the horns with Vijay. If the rumors are believed to be true, then upcoming gangster drama is going to be more interesting.
Currently, Thalapathy Vijay is busy shooting for his next, Varisu/ Vaarasudu, which is progressing at the brisk pace. It is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and has Pushpa fame Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead role. Varisu/ Vaarasudu will be released in theaters in January 2023 on the occasion of Sankranthi.
On the other side, Sanjay Dutt will be next seen in The Good Maharaja, and Ghudchadi.
